This morning’s lead story on The Current had me riveted on the drive in. When Jake Barnett was a baby, he was riveted by plaid bedlinens. By the time he was 10 years old, he tested mathematically at the level of a student doing a PhD in astrophysics. And he is so, so lucky to have a mother who went with her gut instinct, instead of trying to force him into the parameters of how “normal” people think and learn.
Bonus: I was driving slowly so I’d get to hear the whole thing — which meant I didn’t get nailed by the speed trap at chemin Pink and Rue de la Sapinère.
Listen on the The Current’s website. Also, here is Jake’s TedxTeen talk… and now I know what’s on my summer reading list.
